The modified Williamson-Hall plot and dislocation density evaluation from diffraction peaks

چکیده

Diffraction peak profiles were calculated numerically for dislocation ensembles with different spatial arrangements and correlations between the Burgers vector signs. The latter property determines stored elastic energy in crystal width of diffraction peaks. It is shown that within approximation asymptotic line-profile theory relationship breadth magnitude modified Williamson-Hall (mWH) plot linear. slope line proportional to arrangement parameter M0.3 square root density. only rigorous way determining M Fourier method. Therefore, evaluation density from mWH-plot alone impossible should be avoided. mWH however, very useful practice. Its linearity indicates a consistent analysis.
